m not affiliated with Barack Obama's campaign in any way shape or form. I live in Chicopee MA, and I know how important the Pennsylvania primary is. I started off writing a letter very similar to this one and mailing it to a number of residents and local news affiliates. I'm hoping that those who are undecided may be swayed by my thoughts as to why I support Senator Obama.I am not eloquent or from a prestigious background. I began as a highschool dropout and eventually was able to graduate from a community college. I've worked in a hardware store for five years, an auto store for four, and a video rental place for two. I've lived in apartments without heat, skipped getting medical attention when without health insurance, and worked 70hrs a week to almost get by. I've been in positions where I've used credit cards with upwards of 20% interest to pay for groceries. I think that I grasp the plight of poor America. It is because of my experiences that Senator Obama's plans appeal to me. If I had more time, I would join Obama's campaign, but to survive I must work. I bring home approximately $450 a week. I do better now than ever before, but still I could not afford to take adequate time off to devote to his campaign. Instead, I am trying this.I have read Obama's plan in his biographies and on his website. I encourage anyone who has access to a computer to visit his website and seek out what he will do as Commander and Chief. He has specific details as to how he will change America. They make sense. I understand them and wholeheartedly agree. He will disclose to the people where our money is being spent via a simple search engine. This will ensure that politicians will be held accountable for their decisions, as they should be. His consistent objection for entering Iraq has led to the projected troop withdrawal as early as 2009. His plan for universal healthcare and his outline for the economy are strategies that will work if given the opportunity.I'm not saying that he is a hero or that he will fix every problem ailing America. We've had someone promise that for eight years and fail time and time again. Hillary is making similar promises. She is acting as though she is the answer to America but her plans are vague and unfinished. It is patronizing and demeaning when Senator Clinton is speaking to a southern based audience and suddenly has a southern accent, or while in front of a black audience invokes the name of Frederick Douglas. It seems as though she is attempting to get cheap applause from an audience and to relate in a way she is just incapable of doing. Again, this is all too familiar. Bush wearing his cowboy hat comes to mind.I need the Commander and Chief of this country to have the ability to help and safeguard this country. I need the President to be someone I am proud of and who is realistic and sincere. I need the President to rise above all the negativity that has surrounded this great nation for so long and to preserve what is wonderful. I need Barack Obama.
